Graduated from the National University of Singapore. Post graduate work and training at Townsville University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Royal Brisbane and Women Hospital and the Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide.

Established endocrine and diabetes services in Townsville, the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Townsville Hospital in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s. Also, established the Multidiscipline Endocrine/ Diabetes in Pregnancy Antenatal Clinic at the Kirwan Women and Children Hospital, later as part of Townsville Hospital and the Multidiscipline Foot Clinic at Townsville Hospital.

Associate professor, College of Dentistry and Medicine, JCU, an accreditor for Basic Physician Training hospital sites for the Royal Australasian College of Physician, and an occasional reviewer for journals.

Currently in reduced appointments as visiting consultant endocrinologist, Townsville University Hospital and in private practice at the Mater Medical Centre for consultations in general endocrinology and diabetes.
